Campaign for Safer Streets at Night

Every year, countless residents avoid walking alone after dark because our streets are poorly lit and lack visible security presence. This affects not only individual safety but also the social life of our neighbourhoods. We believe that a city should feel safe for everyone, at any hour.

We call on local authorities to:

install additional lighting

emergency call boxes

community surveillance systems in high-risk areas.

Collaboration with security volunteers and improved police patrol schedules could make an immediate difference. Safety is not a privilege — it’s a right.

A good city is like a good party – people stay longer than really necessary because they are enjoying themselves. — Jan Gehl

Citizens have already begun mapping the most vulnerable locations using an open online platform. These contributions show how much we care about our shared spaces and daily security. By signing this initiative, you support a safer, more confident community where evening walks and late-night commutes are no longer a concern.
